Happy Birthday Summer!

I just felt like saying Happy Birthday to Summer. She and I met when her family moved to Tennessee for 6 months in 1998. A few months before she moved there I had been praying for a friend, and then she showed up. We were the only 2 our age in our Ward, and were convinced we were best friends in Heaven!

This is me and Summer the last day that she went to Brentwood High School with me in December of 1998.

Who is Kiera Durfey you ask? Well she is the person who can make me laugh harder than anyone I have ever known. And that's saying something. After I have hung out with Kiera, I need a full night's sleep because I am so dang exhausted from laughing. My sides hurt and my eyes are full of tears of laughter. That girl is frickin funny.

My Idol!

Okay, so I have seen so many American Idol predictions and I wanted to add my own!

The contestants left are Brooke, Carly, Syesha, David C., David A., and Jason. I predict that they will be kicked off in the following order before the top 3:

My top 3 predictions are David Cook, David Archuletta, and Brooke White! I want Brooke to win really bad, but I think that David Cook will win, which I am also okay with. David Archuletta has the most amazing voice but he lacks confidence. Brooke is so unique, likeable, and amazing in her character, but she also seems to doubt herself at times. David Cook seems to really have it together.

5 Slightly EmbarrassingThings Few People Know About Me

I got tagged by my beloved cousin Val. Love ya Val. :) Here are my 5:

1- I played soccer for one season in 5th grade. Our team scored a grand total of 1 goal the whole season. I braided my hair perfectly to one side with a huge scrunchy on the end of it at every practice and game. The scrunchy matched my jersey. One game, a girl kicked a ball right at my face and I got a terrible bloody nose. Somehow, I did not get a drop of blood on my jersey.

2- Starting in about 4th grade, I thought I was fat. I weighed about 55 pounds (I still remember that from our fitness exams in P.E.), and I thought I was fat. I had a friend who I thought was really skinny and cute. I always felt self conscious around her because I thought, "Man, she must think I'm so fat." The weirder thing is I did not break 100 pounds until I was almost 14 years old. When I look back on pics of myself in my childhood, I was so scrawny.

3- I have hair issues. I cannot stand taking too long to do my hair. Even before I had Caleb, I was like this, but not to this extreme. Nowadays, I blow dry and style my hair maybe once every other week, if I'm lucky. Most days, I workout, wash my hair, and put it in a ponytail, braid, or leave it to dry on its own. Blah. Yet, at the same time, I do not have the courage to chop my hair off. I just know I still wont style it, and it will probably look even worse short and not styled.

4- When I was in 8th grade, I was obsessed with Hanson. I went to two of their concerts, had posters on my bulletin boards, and bought every type of BeeBop, TeenyBop, etcBop magazine that had their pictures in it. I owned cd's and movies. I even went to the extent of going to Oklahoma to meet them. Never did, though, I was too scared to knock on the door. I was obsessed. Embarrassing.

5- I have a weird extended family with 4 grandmothers (2 birth, 1 adopted, and 1 step), 2 grandfathers, 10 uncles (3 half, 3 full, and 4 adopted), three aunts (1 full and 2 adopted), and about a million cousins. I know very well all 12 of the cousins and family on my mom's side. However, I can barely even name maybe 10 of the 50 or so on my dad's side.

Blake's Beef

I am new to this whole bloggin' scene. The other day Danielle told me that she loved to go to the dentist. Who loves to go to the dentist... not ME! Why does a dentist office have to smell like rubber gloves and cinnamon? Trust me, those two smells were not made to go together. (I just go the chills typing that). I think it takes a real twisted person to want to torture people to where they clench there legs in a knott to keep from screaming. If you scream it hurts worse. I can't believe that the world will let things like that happen, and yet we get all upset when a terrorist is tortured. I have to go through it once every 6 months for the rest of my life... that is if I don't have the luxury of a cavity or root canal. Then I get to go an extra couple times so I can pay them even more money to hurt me...

Sorry that was a big tangent. My whole reason for writing this post was to tell you that our comments are not up to where they use to be. Did Caleb stop being as cute as he was or have we just bored you all with our married life? We are fun! We rock the party!

Caleb Rolled Over!

Caleb's eyes are beginning to look hazel, and guess who the only person in our family is who has hazel eyes.... my dad!!! He is a miniature version of his Grandpa. :)

When Caleb was 4 weeks old, he rolled over for the first time from belly to back. He did it several times in a row. But, it was an accident and we put him on his elbows to start out. But today, we layed him flat on his belly and there he went! Yay!
